tha-ap.365 Thera Apadana

Bhisamuḷāladāyaka

The Sambuddha was named Phussa,
the Great Master of Everything.
The Seclusion-Lover, Wise One,
came into my presence back then.

Bringing pleasure to my heart in
him, the Victor, Great Compassion,
taking lotus roots and stems, I
gave them to the Best of Buddhas.

In the ninety-two aeons since
I gave that lotus-root back then,
I’ve come to know no bad rebirth:
that’s the fruit of lotus-root gifts.

The four analytical modes,
and these eight deliverances,
six special knowledges mastered,
I have done what the Buddha taught!

Thus indeed Venerable Bhisamuḷāladāyaka Thera spoke these verses.

The legend of Bhisamuḷāladāyaka Thera is finished.
